Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small bowl stir together maple syrup, mustard, tamari and a some cracked black pepper. Brush both sides of the salmon fillets with this mixture and place on a baking sheet.
Divide and sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the salmon fillets covering the tops completely.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until salmon is no longer opaque in the centre.
The Canadian Method for baking salmon doesn't typically apply to recipes with a nut crust. Oven temp is reduced to avoid burning the nuts!
